Traditional traffic asset management approaches, primarily relying on human inspection and manual record-keeping, suffer from significant time consumption, labor intensiveness, and human errors. These limitations are exacerbated as road networks expand and the number of traffic assets increases. Hence, there is an urgent need for a more efficient and accurate approach to addressing the challenges posed by traditional methods. By harnessing AI technology, this project offers Pima County a cost-effective solution to streamline the asset management processes. The goal is to create an automated process that obtains data collection via a vehicle mounted camera and converts the data into an importable data file that spatially represents the assets being collected as well as the predetermined attributes for consumption to Esri.
